Start & Finish: Øster Allé in the Østerbro district, next to Fælledparken.
Route Highlights: Runners pass through many of Copenhagen’s iconic neighborhoods and landmarks, including Nørrebro, Vesterbro, Frederiksberg, Indre By (historic city center), and Østerbro. The route features broad boulevards, cobble-free surfaces, and smooth asphalt ideal for speed.
Elevation: Virtually flat from start to finish with only minor undulations (less than 10 m elevation gain overall), making it one of the fastest half marathon courses in the world.
Crowd Atmosphere: The course is lined with tens of thousands of enthusiastic spectators, live bands, and cheer zones that create a festival-like atmosphere throughout the city.
Course Services: Water and energy stations are positioned approximately every 4–5 km, with elite bottle tables and medical support along the route.
The course is World Athletics Label certified and AIMS-measured, making all results eligible for official records and qualifying standards. It’s the same route where Geoffrey Kamworor set the men’s half marathon world record (58:01) in 2019.
