What are the benefits from the new IAAF qualifying system?
Posted by: supergo - 03-19-2019, 12:18 AM - Forum: General Posts - No Replies

IAAF has established a new system qualifying system for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics with the ridiculously high standards and ranking system that will be used to select athletes for the next Olympic and possibly next World championships. What are the positives and which countries will benefit the most from the new IAAF qualification system?

Caster Semenya should be classified as a MALE athlete
Posted by: alfredson - 02-13-2019, 06:35 PM - Forum: General Posts - No Replies

The IAAF will insist Olympic women's 800m champion Caster Semenya should be classified as a 'biological male' who identifies as a female at a Court of Arbitration of Sport hearing next week.

It is obvious Semenya is more a man than women without doing any testosterone tests. Semenya and South African athletics is doing is destroying women's sports.

I pray that IAAF wins this case.

WADA finds no issues with data in Russian anti doping lab
Posted by: theendisnear - 01-11-2019, 11:28 AM - Forum: General Posts - No Replies

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has confirmed their three-person team has started work to retrieve crucial data from the Russian Anti-Doping Agency's (RUSADA) Laboratory in Moscow and have reported "no issues" so far.

This is very bad news for the sport. Either WADA is even more corrupt than I thought or Russians have manipulated all the data and the system to hide any evidence.

Sad Kenenisa Bekele Drops Out at 41KM in Amsterdam Marathon!!
Posted by: alfredson - 10-21-2018, 12:46 PM - Forum: Marathons and Road Races - Replies (4)

All the talk and big expectations about Kenenisa Bekele running in Amsterdam marathon ended with another DNF. What is wrong with him? The weirdest thing here is that Bekele dropped from the race after 40km when there was only 1.5km left. He was in 10th place and if he finished who would still ran2:07.

Digital TV platform for live running events
Posted by: DavidH1000 - 09-15-2018, 06:31 PM - Forum: General Posts - Replies (4)

Hi everyone

We're looking to develop a digital TV network for niche sports. Basically the objective is to offer a platform to sports that get ignored by popular TV channels, especially in smaller markets like some European countries.
Our team has an interest in endurance sports, e.g. triathlon, marathon running, open water swimming, ... which sparked the idea and will be our first target in terms of sports to cover.

I'm starting this thread to get your input on three things:

  1. What's your first reaction when you hear this idea?

  2. Do you recognize the problem of not being able some sports you'd like to follow? What issues do you have?

  3. Have you heard of examples of companies that do this in your country?
Really appreciate your input!
Thanks
David

  the wearing down of spikes
Posted by: 14mtaylor - 09-11-2018, 08:26 AM - Forum: General Posts - Replies (1)

I am currently investigating into creating a cover for track spikes so that I can create a product that will allow athletes to walk on concrete without damaging their spikes.

I have a survey that would greatly help with my research and if anyone has any opinions on my topic feel free to give your ideas.

Why sprinters have short career - unlike Usain Bolt?
Posted by: bestpost - 07-27-2018, 11:03 PM - Forum: General Posts - Replies (2)

I'm curious why World-class sprinters have a short career but Usain Bolt managed to dominate for 10 years?
