• Marathon record holder Brigid Kosgei striving for personal best at Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon

Marathon world record holder Brigid Kosgei is aiming for a personal best at the Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon on Friday. 

The event will be the first race of her 2020 season as she prepares for the London Marathon in April and the Tokyo Olympic Games in the summer.

The 25 year-old Kenyan told Nation Sport: "Friday's race has attracted a competitive field and promises to be tough. My target is to run well, and to possibly register my personal best in the race.

"I have trained for the last few months and I will stick to my game plan in the race."
