• Galen Rupp Drops Out of Chicago Marathon

In his first race back since having Achilles surgery, Galen Rupp dropped out of the 2019 Chicago Marathon. The former Nike Oregon Project athlete walked off the course to receive medical attention just before the 23-mile mark of the race on Sunday.

After the race, his agent, Ricky Simms, told race officials that he had to pull out of the race because of a calf strain and that he had been running with pain since mile 6.
