• Athlete vaccination not a requirement for the Tokyo Olympics

The Japanese government wants to go through the Olympic Games in Tokyo without the vaccinations against the coronavirus. 

"We are considering comprehensive measures to host safe and secure games, even without vaccines becoming a condition," said government spokesman Katsunobu Kato on Tuesday. The President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Thomas Bach, had ruled out obligatory vaccination for athletes. Around 11,000 athletes from all over the world will take part in the games.
