London’s annual Diamond League event looks set to move to a midweek slot in the congested sporting calendar next summer.
UK Athletics bosses are looking for a Tuesday, July 13 date for its annual athletics showcase, which takes place as the Anniversary Games at the London Stadium.
The sheer number of postponed events in 2020 have left the 2021 fixture list looking extremely congested across many sports.
The new date would avoid a weekend clash with big events on UK soil such as the Wimbledon finals and the British Grand Prix, both of which take place on the following weekend. It would also take place after the year-delayed Euro 2020 has reached its conclusion.
