• Harry Coppell (5.85m) sets national pole vault record at British Championships

British championships day 2:

Harry Coppell set a new British pole vault record with 5.85m clearance to win the British Championships title in Manchester on Saturday (5).

Other highlights include Aimee Pratt's women's steeplechase world-leading PB of 9:30.73. Rosie Clarke was second in 9:46.31.

Daniel Rowden won the men's 800m final in 1:45.94, the fastest winning time at the British Championships since 1992.

Imani Lansiquot won the 100m in wind-assisted 11.26 (2.1m/s).

Jazmin Sawyers, the 2016 European silver medallist, won the long jump with 6.69m.

Laura Weightman took the women's 1500m in 4:09.76. 

George Mills in a sprint 52-second final lap took the men's 1500m with a time of 3:51.39 beating world championships finalist Neil Gourley by 0.05 seconds.
