Polish Athletes Highlight Orlen Cup in Lodz

Polish track and field athletes took four victories during the international indoor meet - The Orlen Cup - in Lodz, Poland on Thursday, February 16.

This season´s surprise (a world leader with 6.00m) Piotr Lisek cleared 5.87m for the win in the men´s pole vault.

In the women´s high jump Kamila Licwinko, the former world indoor champion, took the victory with a new season´s best mark of 1.97m.

Polish shot put prodigy, the 19-year-old giant, Konrad Bukowiecki, threw 20.73m to claim the win in the shot put. 

Finally Ewa Swoboda stormed to victory in the 60m dash final setting her season´s best mark of 7.20m.

Elsewhere on the track, Cuba´s Yunier Perez claimed the 60m with 6.53 seconds.

Hungary´s Baji Balazs won the 60m hurdles in 7.64 seconds as Canada´s Phylicia George took the women´s 60m hurdles with a time of 7.93 seconds.
