The four time Olympic Champion, over 5000m and 10000m, Mo Farah will line up in the Emil Zatopek 10000m Memorial race at the annual Ostrava Golden Spike meet on June 28.

Back in 2005 legendary Kenenisa Bekele ran 26:20.31 in Ostrava to set the current 10000m world record. That was also the last year when a 10000m race was staged in the Ostrava meeting.

´´I am glad to confirm my start at the Emil Zátopek Memorial at 10,000m at Ostrava Golden Spike,´´It will be my premiere on the track at 10,000m in Europe except for championships,

´´ I have heard that athletes show good results in Ostrava and I do believe that the weather will cooperate and I achieve a good time,

´´The main aim in 2017 is the world championships in London, and Ostrava will be a good chance to show a solid performance within the preparation for these championships,´´ said Mo Farah.

Last and only time the British superstar competed in Ostrava was in 2008 when he finished seventeenth in 5000m in 13:25.01
