USA Women Set DMR World Record

The United States women's distance Medley Relay (DMR) team set a new World's best of 10:40.31 at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix.

The USA team of Emma Coburn, Sydney McLaughlin, Brenda Martinez, and Jenny Simpson established a new DMR world record during the first stage of IAAF World Indoor Tour meet in Boston on Saturday, January 28.
 
Coburn, the Rio Olympics steeple chase silver medalist split  3:18.40  in the 1200m. In the second leg (400m), the US high school Olympian McLaughlin splitting 52.32 seconds managed to gain lead over team Europ. Martinez, the 2013 world championships bronze medalist pushed away from the European New Balance team with a fast 2:01.92 split over 800m, as Rio Olympics bronze medalist Simpson concluded the relay clocking 4:27.66 in the 1600m. 
 
"All of us were in Rio and had long seasons,"
