Bekele Eyes World Marathon Record in Dubai

In less than 10 days, legendary runner Kenenisa Bekele will line up at the 2017 Dubai Marathon.

Last September Bekele won Berlin marathon clocking history's second fastest marathon time of 2:03:03 missing Dennis Kimetto World record by only 6 seconds. 

“It was fantastic for me to get a personal best, but I’m still disappointed to have missed out on the world record,”

“I knew I had trained well and I knew what my strengths were,” said  the 2008  Beijing 5000m and 10000m Olympic champipon.

“The Berlin race was fantastic but I could see that I still had to make a couple of changes in my training.” the17-time world chamion Bekele added. 

The 2017 Dubai marathon will take place on Friday, January.

The men's coarse record stands at  2:04:23.
