Farah wins 3rd straight Great North Run

The four time Olympic champion Mo Farah won his 3rd straight Great North run on Tyneside on Sunday.

Farah pulled pushed away from Dathan Ritzenhein  (USA) one mile to go to win his 3rd consecutive Great North Run in 60:04 in his final race in 2016. 

The women's race was won by Kenya's Olympic 5000m champion Vivian Cheruiyot, who clocked 67:65 minutes beating compatriot Priscah Jeptoo and  Ethiopian Tirunesh Dibaba into second and third respectively.
