David Rudisha took the men's 800m title in style and became the first man since 1964 to defend the men's 800m Olympic title on Monday.

The-26-year-old world record holder, Rudisha,  by winning 800m gold in Rio  in 1:42.15 minutes became one of the one of the greatest 800m runners of all time.

Algeria's London Olympics 1500m champion, Taoufik Makhloufi, took silver with a time of 1:42.61 minutes, while America's Clayton Murphy took a surprise bronze clocking with a new personal best time of 1:42.93 minutes.
