Elaine Thompson takes 100m title in 10.71, Fraser-Pryce wins bronze

Jamaica's Elaine Thompson won the women's 100m, while two-time Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce took bronze at the Rio Olympics.

The -24-year-old Elaine Thompson won the women's 100m title clocking 10.71 seconds beating  USA's s Tori Bowie (10.83) into  second place.

Thompson's training partner defending champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, who suffered a foot injury earlier this summer,  took bronze in 10.86.

Meanwhile world silver medalist  Dafne Schippers of Netherlands finished in 5th place with a time of 10.90 seconds.
