Robert Harting (68.04m) defeats his brother Christoph for German discus throw title

Olympic discus throw champion Robert Harting threw 68.04m to win German discus throw title in Kassel on Sunday, June 19.

Rober beat his brother Christoph, who threw 66.41m  into second place. Janski Daniel managed 65.18m to take third place in the men's discus throw final.

The women's 1500m title went to a 19-year-old Konstanze Klosterhalfen. The European Junior cross country champion, Klosterhalfen broke the tape in 4:07.92. Maren Kock out-sprinted Diana Sujen to take silver in 4:11.89 . 

In the women's 800m final Christina Hering lead from start to win the German championships gold in 2:02.19. Similar story was in the men's 800m final when Benedikt Huber led the race from the gun to claim German title with a time of 1:47.17.

A big victory with a massive personal of 66.41m took Christin Hussong in the women's javelin.  The 22-year-old Hussong's 66.41m performance broke the Germany's U23 record and moved her to #3 spot in this year's world rankings.

Thomas Rohler did not leave any chances to his opponents as after his impressive throw of 86.81m to win the men's javelin contest.

Cindy Roleder took the women's 100m hurdles in 12.86 seconds. Meanwhile men's 110m final winner Mathias Buhler clocked 13.44 seconds.

In vertical jumps Marie-Laurence Jungfleich went over 1.90m take women's high jump contest.  Tobias Scherbarth cleared 5.70m for the win in the men's pole vault.
