Cuba's Denia Caballero beats Perkovic in the women's discus throw final

Cuba's Denia Caballero beat defending champion Sandra Perkovic of Croatia in the women's discus throw final in the 4th day day of the IAAF world championships in Beijing.

Already in her 1st throw of the women's discus throw competition Caballero produced a gold medal winning performance of  69.28m. Caballero continued to impress as she  achieved four of the five farthest throws in the final.

Defending champion Perkovic in the final round threw  67.39m to pass by Germany's Nadine Müller who was in the second place after her opening throw of 65.53m.
