Makhloufi runs 2:13.08 in 1000m in France

Olympic 1500m champion Taoufik Makhloufi  became 4th fastest man in history over 1000m at European Athletics classic meeting Nancy on Wednesday (1).

Makhloufi, who was paced by by two pacemakers surprised with a massive 2:13.08 to win French Pro Elite tour meet Nancy. 

The Algerian mid-distance star now stands 1.14  seconds from current world record , which was set by Kenya's Noah Ngeni back in 1999 in Rieti.

The second place with a super-fast time took one of the pacemaker's Johnathan Kitilit (KEN), who crossed the line in 2:15.78 with compatriot Ewin Melly in third in 2:17.51
