Pitkamaki Tops Javelin with 88.61m in Doha

Finland's former world javelin champion Tero Pitkamaki opened his season with an impressive world leading mark of 88.61m at Doha Diamond League meet on Friday night.
Having thrown 75.69m, 77.60m, 80.14m, 80.31m, 81.98m, in his first 5 rounds, the 32-year-old Finish javelin thrower in his final throw surprised all his opponents with 88.62m performance.
Pitkamaki's countryman Antti Ruuskanen took second with a season's best and world #2 mark of 86.61m, while defending world champion Vítezslav Veselý was third ith 83.67m.
