USA Men Break DMR World Record

USA team of Kyle Merber (1200m), Brycen Spratling (400m), Brandon Johnson (800m) and Ben Blankenship (1600m) set a new world distance medley record of 9:15.50 on the final day at the World Relays championships in Bahama's on Sunday (3).
USA, Australia and Kenya got the anchor leg together, but Kenya's Cheruiyot made a lethal move as took it out in 51.9 seconds in the first 400m. USA's Blankenship and Australia's anchor man ran smart as they stayed some 4 seconds behind Cheruiyot. At the bell lap Blankenship was right The United States improved previous DMR world record set by Kenya in 2006 by 0.06 seconds. Team Kenya took second in 9:17.20, while Australia came in third in 9:21.62.
