World pole vault record holder, Renaud Lavillenie, kicked of his 2015 outdoor season with a solid win at a promotional Drake Relays pole vault contest on the steerts of Des Moines in Iowa on Wednesday.
" Despite shifting winds and cool temperatures I managed to win the event with a mark of 5.80m using 16 steps. I'll be back in competition on Saturday at Drake Relays". Lavillenie posted on his Instagram page.
