Hinriksdóttir Sets WL in Reykjavik

Iceland's 19-year-old rising 800m star, Anita Hinriksdóttir, showed she is in solid form as she won the 800m at the Reykjavik International Games with the fastest time in the world this year.


Hinriksdóttir, who celebrated her 19th birthday last week powered away from Spain's Victoria Sauleda to win the race with a time world leading time of 2:02:88. Victoria Sauleda who took second clocked  2:05.29. 

“I’ve recently returned home from an overseas training camp and I’m not really race-ready but, for my first competition of the year, it was a good result,” said Hinriksdóttir.
