2 Kenyan Runners Test Positive for Doping

Two Kenyan marathon runners were banned for for using prohibited substances, Athletics Kenya announced on Monday.

Viola Chelangat Kimetto  and Joyce Jemutai Kiplimo both failed doping tests and will face 2-year doping ban.

Viola Chelangat Kimetto, who took third in Athens marathon tested positive for Norandosterone during the Macau Galaxy Entertainment International Marathon held on 1st December 2013.

The other Kenyan  Joyce Jemutai Kiplimo failed a doping test at the Yangzhou half marathon. The 32-year-old Kiplimo  posted a personal best time of 1:10.21 in that race.

Last month world's best female marathoner Rita Jeptoo's doping test taken during her training in September, came back positive for EPO. If Jeptoo's B sample will return adverse results she could face 2-year ban.
