Kipchoge Wins Chicago Marathon

Eliud Kipchoge of Kenya won the 2014 Bank of America Chicago marathon on Sunday, October 12.


 
Kipchoge who won the 2003 world championships gold medal in 5000m pushed away from the leaders at the 40km marker to win the race in a very fast time of 2:04.11.
 
The second and third place took Kenyans Sammy Kitwara and Dickson Chimba who finished after 2:04.28 and 2;04.32 respectively.
 
One of the race favorites legendary distance runner Kenenisa Bekele in his second marathon in his career took fourth in 2:05.51.
 
Kipchoge cashed in $100,000 prize for winning today's Chicago marathon.
