Bondarenko Added to Star Studded Ostrava Meet

The organizers of 53rd Golden Spike Ostrava in the last minute managed to add current  World Champion Bohdan Bondarenko, who took the win at the Diamond League meeting in New York on Saturday with a magnificent personal best mark of 2.42m. 

American sprinters Justin Gatlin, Lawshan Merrit and  Allyson Felix are another big names set to compete on Tuesday, June 17 in Ostrava, Chzeck Republic. 
 
After Usain Bolt pulled out of the meet last week the favorite Jastin Gatlin will be looking to extend his win streak to six and to improve his world leading mark of 9.87 he set in May in Beijing.
 
"If the weather holds up and if there's going to be a good, fair wind, I think we can go out there and do something very special," said Gatlin in a pre-meet interview. 
 
Gatlin will face  compatriot Mike Rodgers, the 37 year old Kim Collins of St Kitts and Nevis, and South Africa's Simon Magakwe, who set the South African record of 9.98.
 
The fans in the 400m race will see world champion American LaShawn Merritt, who holds the world leading mark of 43.97seconds.
 
The four-time Olympic gold medallist and three-time world champion Allyson Felix will lead the women's 200m race. Felix who took a win Oslo last week in 22.73sec. will face Jamaica's Aleen Bailey and France's Myriam Soumare.
 
The 110m hurdles event France's Pascal Martinot-Lagarde, the season's leader with 13.12sec, against the second fastest man of the year, Jamaica's Hansle Parchment.
 
Another 400, hurdles race will run world decathlon champion Ashton Eaton, who won the event in Oslo in 49.16 seconds.
 
The veteran bernard lagat who has won multiple world and olympic medals will take on seasons top 3000m runners in the event.
 
World pole vault record holder  Frenchman, Renaud Lavillenie, will be lookingto improve his season best of 5.92m and win his 10th competition in a row.
 
In the men's and women's javelin the local fans will see two-time Olympic champion Barbora Spotakova world champion Vitezslav Vesely facing countryman Petr Frydrych who holds season best mark of 85.07m.
