The London Olympic 100m hurdle champion, Sally Pearson of Australia, will have her first race over 100m hurdles on Saturday Feb-22 at the national Perth Track Classic meeting.

"I'm actually really looking forward to my hurdles because it will be first hurdle race of the season and my sessions have been going really well. So I can't wait to get that underway,” said pearson after competing in  Adelaide over 100m.

In a preparation to defend her World Indoors  60m hurdle title, the 27-year Australian chose to prepare and race in Australia. Two weeks ago in Canberra she clocked a fast 11.27 seconds over 100m and last week she ran another 100m and a 200m at Adelaide Track Classic clocking 11.35sec and 23.18 respectively.

After the Perth Track classic Pearson will head to Europe where she will compete at International Istaf Indoor  meeting in Berlin on March 1 in 60 hurdles. It will be her first and only 60m hurdle race before world indoor championships.

“The Australian season for me is a really important time to build up my speed for later in the season and the shortened format of World Indoors allows for that very well. " Said the 2012 Olympic Champion and World Indoor champion Pearson.

After world Indoors Pearson will continue competing over in Australia: Sydney Track classic March 15, Melbourne World Challenge March 22, and Queensland Track Classic March 29.
