Pearson Returns on Sunday With 100m Race

Olympic 100m hurdle champion, Sally Pearson, of Australia is preparing to start her 2014 in Canberra (AUS) on Sunday with a 100m race.

This weekend, Pearson's biggest rival will be compatriot Melissa Breen, who is preparing to run the 100m at the Commonwealth games in July. Breen clocked 11.32 seconds in 100m in January and holds a personal best of 11.25 seconds.

Pearson's personal best in 100m is 11.14 seconds, but the last time the Olympic champion ran the race was back in June of 2012 when she posted 11.20 seconds in a meeting in Nivelles.

Both athletes have met  29 times in different sprint event competitions with Pearson winning over Breen in all of them.

''It'll be a good battle, she's beaten me every other time we've raced. The odds are definitely in her favour … so I'm definitely the underdog,'' Breen said to Canberra times news.

Sally Pearson have already announced that she will go to World indoor championships in Sopot, Poland in March to defend her 60m hurdle world title.
