Defending World Champion in 1500m Abeba Aregawi of Sweeden is planning to break 1500m world indoor record at the XL Galan international indoor meeting on February 6.

“I’ve been training hard in order to break the World indoor record at the XL Galan,” said Aregawi,  “It was such a great atmosphere and now I’ll try everything I can to run even faster.”

Last year at XL Galan she set history's second fastest 1500m indoor time of 3:58.40 just 0.12 seconds off the current world record.

The Ethiopia born Swedish athlete Aregawi still finds the best training in her 'motherland' as she prepares for the 2014 indoor season over in East African country.

I get good training conditions in Ethiopia, which is why I train down there, and then I’ll go back to Sweden for the XL Galan,” Aregawi said. “That is my big goal for the season, along with the World Indoor Championships in Poland.”
