• Kipruto Wins Dramatic Frankfurt Marathon

Kenyan Vincent Kipruto in a dramatic indoor finish won the Frankfurt Marathon clocking 2:06:16 on Sunday, October 27.

Vincent Kipruto out-kicked in the final meters of the race compatriot Mark Kiptoo, who in his marathon debut posted an excellent time of 2:06:17. The third place took another Kenyan runner Elijah Kembo, who crossed the finish line in 2:07:34.

The Kenyan marathoners dominance continued as the Caroline Kilel won the women's race in  2:22:35 with Flomena Chepchirchir in second 2:22:59. The only non Kenyan on the podium was Birhane Dibaba of Ethiopia who clocked 2:23:02 for third. The winner Kilel set the 4th fastest Frankfurt marathon time in history.
