Chebet Wins Third Amsterdam Marathon

Kenya's Wilson Chebet won for  the 3rd straight year Amsterdam Marathon title by setiing a new course record of 2:05:36 on Sunday (20). WATCH VIDEO HERE

The pacemakers set the early pace perfect to brake the previous course record of 2:05:41 as they passed the 10km mark at 29:27min, the second fastest Amsterdam10km split. A group of around 15 runners stayed together with a top man splitting 62:38 min.

In the final stages of the race it was Wilson Chebet who knew how to to win the race in Amsterdam as he cressed the finish line first with a new course record time of 2:05:36.

Wilson Chebet in 2011 won his first Amsterdam marathon in 2:05:53, last year he won the race in 2:05:41 and this year the Kenyan improved his time to 2:05:36. In fact all three times he managed to break the course record.

The women's race winner Valentine Kipketer of Kenya won the marathon race in  2:23:02. The 20 year old Kenyan improved her personal best mark by 1minute and 31 seconds.
