Dibaba Misses Radcliffe's 10km WR

Ethiopia's superstar Tirunesh Dibaba attempted to break the 10km road world record, but  missed it by nine seconds, as she won the Internationale Rabobank Tilburg Ladies Run 10 km race on Sunday (1).

The 5 time World Champion, Dibaba, clocked 15.21 at the 5km mark, meaning that she was off the pace by 10 seconds, but managed to improve the second part of the race in 15:09. Dibaba crossed the finish line in 30:30min winning the race and setting the 4th fastest  time over the 10km road race in history. 

The second place took Kenya's Esther Chemtai, who clocked 32.06 with Ethiopia's Genet Yalew in third (32.07).

 The women's 10km road race world record of 30.21 since 2003 belongs to Great Britain's Paula Radcliffe.
