Adams Continues Her Win-Streak in Zurich
Undoubtedly Worlds best shot putter, Velrie Adams, of New Zealand
continued her impressive win-streak on Wednesday as she set a new season best mark in the world in the first day of the Diamond League meeting in Zurich.
With the shot put competition held at the Zurich train station, the two time Olympic champion and three time world champion, Adams, impressed with a toss of 20.98m, bettering her own worlds season best mark.
Setting a seasons best mark of 19.97m ,Russia's Yevgeniya Kolodko took second. The podium concluded America's shot putter Michelle Carter with a toss of 19.88m.
The Diamond League meeting in Zurich was Adams' 12th meeting of the year and extended her unbeaten run to 41 meetings.
American Ryan Whiting won the men's shot put competition with a brilliant throw of 22.03m. Germany's Olympic and World champion David Strol took second with a performance of 21.19m. Canada's Dylan Armstrong finished in third with a throw of 21.13m.
Diamond League meeting Weltklasses (Zurich) will continue on Thursday with lost of action.
