Mo Farah broke 28 -year old European
record on Friday with a brilliant run in the 1500m at the IAAF Diamond
League in Monaco.
The double olympic champion in 5000m and 10000m Mo Farah was competing in this shorter race to increase
his speed practice ahead of the World Championships in Moscow in three
weeks time.
But the double Olympic, World and triple European
champion at the 5000m and 10,000m is now the world's sixth quickest
1500m man of all time after finishing in 3:28.81 behind Asbel Kiprop, of
Kenya, who won in 3:27.72.
The time from Farah broke the
European record of 3:28.95 which Spain's Fermin Cacho ran in 1997 and he
also replaced Steve Cram as the British record holder.
