Kiryu to Test 10s Barrier in Kawasaki

Japans 17 year old running prodigy ,Yoshihide Kiryu, who broke the Wolrd Youth Record and equalled world Junior record this Monday, will be under Japanese microscope as he is scheduled to run 100m on Sunday May 5th at the IAAF World Challenge Meet in Kawaski.

This Monday, Yoshihide clocked a blistering time of 10.01 seconds at the at the preliminary round in Mikio Oda Memorial in Hiroshima and later at the final he clocked 2.7m/s wind-a ssisted 10.03 seconds.

"Having come this far, I want to become the first (Japanese) to run under 10 seconds," he said. "If I tune up thoroughly, I can run 10.00." said Kiryu.

On Sunday in Kawasaki, Kiryu will definately have more pressure to handle as he will have to face four atheltes that have run 100m under 10 seconds.

Can Japanese teenager break the magic 10 second barrier will know on Sunday.
