Two Russian femail athletes Darya Pishchalnikova, the London Olympics Discus throw silver medallist, and Yelena Arzhakova, the 2012 European 800m champion, have recieved doping ban due to fail drug tests, said Russian Athletics Federation said on its website.
A sample taken from Pishchalnikova in May, 2012, was re-tested and proved positive for the anabolic steroid oxandrolone.
The Russian, who already served a doping ban from July of 2008 to April 2011, has been disqualified for 10 years.
All of Pishchalnikova's results staring from May 20, 2012, have been nullified, as well she will have to return her London Olympic medal.
Another leading Russian athlete,Yelena Arzhakova, the European 800 meter champion, will be ineligible to compete for 2 years starting from January. 29, 2013. The 23 year old athletes sample showed an "abnormal haemoglobin profile in her biological passport.
Arzhakova, who finished sixth in the 800-metre Olympic final in London, will have all her results from July 12, 202 nullified, as well she will be stripped of her European 800m title she won at the end of July in Helsinki.
