Chicago Marathon 2026 Final Elite Fields Published

Defending champions Jacob Kiplimo and Hawi Feysa return to the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on Sunday, October 11, facing strong opposition in the race’s 48th edition. Brigid Kosgei, Sharon Lokedi and Amos Kipruto headline the challengers, with the latest additions further strengthening the men’s field.

Uganda’s Kiplimo leads the men’s entries with a personal best of 2:00:28, recorded in London this year. Kenya’s Kipruto, who ran 2:01:39 in the same race, looks a major threat, alongside Ethiopia’s Milkesa Mengesha (2:03:17), Tadese Takele (2:03:23) and Kenya’s Daniel Mateiko (2:03:44). Charles Hicks, whose 2:04:35 came on Boston’s non-record-eligible course, heads the American challenge alongside Clayton Young and former Chicago champion Galen Rupp.

Belgium’s Bashir Abdi adds another experienced contender following the September field update. However, Alex Masai, third in Chicago last year, has withdrawn.

The women’s race brings together defending champion Feysa and two-time Chicago winner Kosgei, whose 2:14:04 remains the fastest listed personal best. Sharon Lokedi offers another compelling challenge, while Sutume Kebede (2:15:55), Megertu Alemu (2:16:34) and Brillian Kipkoech (2:17:05) add considerable depth. Sara Hall, Susanna Sullivan, Des Linden and Natosha Rogers lead a strong American contingent in a race that promises a competitive battle for the podium. See the full elite fields below.
