Duplantis soars to 6.31m world record at Mondo Classic in Uppsala
Sweden’s Armand Duplantis delivered another historic performance on Thursday night, clearing 6.31 meters to break his own pole vault world record at the Mondo Classic in Uppsala, Sweden.
Competing in front of an enthusiastic home crowd at the IFU Arena, the two-time Olympic champion produced a flawless jump over the bar set at 6.31m to improve the previous world record of 6.30m that he set in 2025. The mark represents the latest chapter in Duplantis’ remarkable domination of the event and another incremental step in the steady progression of the pole vault world record.
The Mondo Classic, an indoor exhibition-style meeting created around Duplantis and dedicated exclusively to pole vault, once again provided the stage for history. The competition featured several elite vaulters, including Greece’s Emmanouil Karalis and Norway’s Sondre Guttormsen, but the evening ultimately belonged to the Swedish superstar.
Duplantis continues to redefine the limits of the event, extending his own world record and reinforcing his status as the greatest pole vaulter in history.
