The 2025 United Airlines NYC Half Marathon, held on Sunday, March 16, saw record-breaking performances from elite runners in both the men's and women's divisions.
In the men's race, defending champion Abel Kipchumba of Kenya secured his second consecutive victory, finishing with an impressive new event record of 59:09. American athletes Conner Mantz and Hillary Bor rounded out the top three, finishing in second and third place, respectively.
The women's race was dominated by Kenya's Sharon Lokedi, who set another event record with her winning time of 1:07:04. Lokedi, known for her victory at the 2022 New York City Marathon, showcased her continued strength in long-distance competitions. Fiona O'Keeffe from the United States took second place, followed closely by fellow American Calli Hauger-Thackery in third.
This year's event also featured a significant route change, with runners crossing the Brooklyn Bridge for the first time due to ongoing construction on the Manhattan Bridge. Approximately 27,000 participants enjoyed a scenic course through Brooklyn and Manhattan, finishing in Central Park.
