Liévin, France – February 13, 2025 – Norway’s Jakob Ingebrigtsen delivered a breathtaking performance at the Meeting Hauts-de-France Pas-de-Calais, smashing the world indoor mile record with a sensational 3:45.14 on Thursday night.
Ingebrigtsen obliterated the previous record of 3:46.63, set just last Sunday by Yared Nuguse at the Millrose Games, lowering the mark by a massive 1.49 seconds. The reigning Olympic champion showcased his signature front-running dominance, storming through the final lap to rewrite history in front of a roaring crowd.
Impressively, Ingebrigtsen's 1500m split of 3:29.63 shattered his own world indoor record of 3:30.60, set at the same meeting in 2022, by one second.
This remarkable feat adds another milestone to the 23-year-old’s illustrious career, solidifying his reputation as one of the greatest middle-distance runners of all time.
