The upcoming Cross Internacional de la Constitucion, a prestigious Gold level event in the World Athletics Cross Country Tour, is set to take place this Sunday in Alcobendas, near Madrid. The event boasts an impressive lineup, headlined by Burundi's Rodrigue Kwizera and Ethiopia's Likina Amebaw.
Rodrigue Kwizera, the reigning champion of last year's World Athletics Cross Country Tour, is looking to add another victory to his impressive season, following a thrilling win in Soria last weekend. However, his road to victory won't be easy, with formidable opponents like Martin Kiprotich from Uganda and Eritrea's Filmon Kibrom posing serious challenges.
Celestin Ndikumana, another rising star from Burundi, and Spain's own Sergio Paniagua, who has been consistently finishing in the top 10, are also athletes to watch in this fiercely competitive race.
The women's 8040m race is set to be equally thrilling, featuring a keenly anticipated rematch between Ethiopians Amebaw and Asayech Ayichew.
