Their achievements include winning titles and setting new world records at major events such as the World Athletics Championships Budapest 23, various one-day meets, Label road races, and other global competitions.

2023 World Athletes of the Year Selection Process
The selection of finalists was through a tripartite voting system.
Votes were collected via email from the World Athletics Council and the World Athletics Family. Additionally, fans participated by voting online through World Athletics' social media channels, where an unprecedented 2 million votes were tallied. The voting period concluded on October 28.
The announcement of the World Athletes of the Year will take place on December 11 on World Athletics’ digital platforms, as a highlight of the World Athletics Awards 2023.
