Jamaica Announces Team for the World Athletics Championships in Budapest

Sprint stars Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Shericka Jackson have been selected to represent Jamaica at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary. The event will take place from August 19 to 27, and both athletes will compete in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m races.

As the competition approaches, all eyes will be on Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Shericka Jackson as they prepare to compete against the world's best sprinters. The Jamaican team is known for its dominance in sprinting events, and these two athletes will undoubtedly be key contenders in their respective races.

Shericka Jackson has been in exceptional form and currently holds the top spot in the world rankings for the 100m event. She achieved an impressive personal best of 10.65 seconds during the Jamaican trials in Kingston on July 7.

After her stellar 10.65 run at the Jamaica trials, Jackson won the 200m in 21.71 (-0.5m/s).

Four Jamaican women will compete in the 200m at the World Athletics Championships, including defending champion Jackson, who qualifies as a wildcard. Likewise, Fraser-Pryce will have a wildcard entry in the 100m as the defending champion.
