Entry lists for the 2023 World Athletics Cross Country Championships have been published.
A total of 453 world's top runners from 50m countries will compete at the Global Cross Country Championships in Bathurst, Australia, on Saturday, February 18.
Fifteen mixed relay teams and 230 athletes (134 men, 102 women) are in the individual senior races, and more than 150 (81 men, 73 women) will compete in the U20 junior races.
The men's senior has defending champion Joshua Cheptegei and fellow Ugandan Jacob Kiplimo, who will face the two-time champion Geoffrey Kamwororfrom Kenya.
In the women's senior race, Ethiopia's World 10,000m champion Letesenbet Gidey, a two-time U20 World Cross Country Champion, will pursue winning her first senior world cross-country title. Gidey will face strong contenders Kenya's Beatrice Chebet and Eritrea's Rahel Daniel.
In the Junior U 20 races defending champions Medina Eisa of Ethiopia, Faith Cherotich, and Reynold Cheruiyot of Kenya will all be in action.
Defending mixed relay champions Ethiopia will have world and Olympic steeplechase finalist Getnet Wale. Another gold medal contender, Kenya, will be led by the steeplechase world record-holder Beatrice Chepkoech. Host nation Australia has a tough team, which includes world-class middle-distance runners Ollie Hoare, Stewart McSweyn, and Jess Hull.
