British sprint star Dina Asher-Smith opened her 2023 season with a dominant win in the women's 60m at the Saturday Jablonec Indoor meet in the Czech Republic.
The 2019 World 200m champion clocked a fast 7.09, finishing way ahead of Ireland's Sarah Healy (7.32). Asher-Smith's winning time is joint fastest in the world and one-hundredth of a second off her lifetime best.
Turkish sprinter Kayhan Özer won the men's 60m dash final with 66.58 seconds. Poland's Oliwer Wdowik was second at 6.61, while Jan Veleba from the Czech Republic was third with 6.64.
Czech Republic's star Tomáš Staněk won the men's shot put with a new World lead of 21.43. Andrei Rares Toader managed to throw 20.36 for second place.
