Switzerland sprinter Alex Wilson impressed by breaking the European 100m and by clocking a sub-20-second performance in the 200m at the Georgia Games in Georgia, USA on Sunday, July 18.
Running under perfect weather conditions for sprinters +30C and favorable (+1.9m/s) winds Wilson won the 100m dash in a new European record of 9.84 seconds. The previous European 100m record of 9.86 seconds belonged to Portugal's Francis Obikwelu and France's Jimmy Vicaut.
About one hour later Wilson returned to action in the 200m and clocked a new Swiss record of 19.89 (wind +1.8m/s).
