Men's Discus in Spotlight in Kuorate as Daniel Stahl set WL 70.55m while Kristjan Ceh set NR 70.35m

Discus throwers Sweden's Daniel Stahl and Slovenia's Kristjan Ceh highlighted the 2021Kuortane Games, a World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze level meeting, by throwing over the 70m mark on Saturday (26).

The reigning World Champion, Stahl won the men's discus throw competition with his final attempt effort of 70.55m. He beat into second place the European U23 champion Kristjan Ceh by 20cm who threw 70.35m in the third round, his first-ever mark over 70 metres, to break his own Slovenian and European U23 record.

Another big mark produced Germany’s Johannes Vetter who threw massive 93.59m to win the men's javelin contest. The Olympic champion Keshorn Walcott of Trinidad and Tobago set his season's best of 89,12 while Neeraj Chopra of India took third with 86,79. 

The 2017 World champion Vetter has produced 90+ throws in his last six competitions.
