Tara Davis sets new NCAA lcollegiate long jump record with 6.93m (22-9)

NCAA Indoor championships Fayetteville, Arkansas day 2 March 12:

Tara Davis a junior from Texas, who returned to collegiate competition after two years jumped a huge 6.93m (22-9ft) to set a new NCAA long jump record.

Davis broke the 19-year-old women's NCAA record held by Elva Goulbourne's of Auburn.

The last time Davis placed in the top 8 at the NCAA championships was back in 2018 when she was third in the long jump and sixth in the 60-meter hurdles as a freshman at Georgia.

Her 6.93m performance is a 2021 World lead and puts her 6th on the US indoor all-time list.
