Ethiopia's Genzebe Dibaba will attempt the women's 5km world record while Kenya's Hellen Obiri will attempt the women's 10km record at the Cursa dels Nassos in Barcelona, Spain on new year's eve.
The 7-time World record holder, Dibaba, is returning to action after winning the Valencia half on December 6 with a remarkable 12th fastest half marathon time in the history of 1:05:18 on her debut.
The women's 5km road world record of 14:48 belongs to Sifan Hassan from February 2019.
Dibaba's 5000m personal best times on the track outdoors is 14:15.41 and 14:18.86 on the indoor track.
The reigning world champion in the 5000m and cross country Hellen Obiri of Kenya is aiming for the women's 10km World record of 29:42.
Biri's personal best time in the 10km is 29:59 she set two years in the San Silvestre Vallecana.
Jimmy Gressierhe will be looking to improve his own European 5km record (13:18).
