Michael Norman blazed to a new World lead and a personal best 9.86 100m win at a track meet Ft. Worth, Texas, on Monday.

In his first 100m in four years, Norman smashed his previous personal best mark by 0.31 seconds.

"After four long years I finally got to run the 100m," 22-year-old Norman posted on Twitter.

With his new personal best, Norman became only the second man in history to run sub-10 for 100m, sub-20 for 200m and sub-44 for 400m. Olympic 400m champion Wayde van Niekerk was the first man in history to go sub-10, sub-20, and sub-44.

Michael Norman's personal best times:

  • 100m - 9.86
  • 200m - 19.70
  • 400m - 43.45

Rai Benjamin, Norman’s training partner and the joint third-fastest man in history in the 400 m hurdles, was also in the race clocking a huge PB of 10.03.
