• Degitu Azimeraw Breaks Amsterdam Marathon Course Record With 2:19:26 On Her Debut

Degitu Azimeraw led Ethiopian 1-2-3-4 finish at the 2019 Amsterdam Marathon on Sunday, October 20.

The 20-year-old Azimeraw on her marathon debut broke the course record with an amazing 2:19:26 and became the second fasest debutan in marathon history after Paula Radcliffe's 2:18:56 from the 2002 London Marathon.

Tigist Girma shaved more than 7 minutes from her personal best to take second place in 2:19:52. Azmera Gebru broke her personal best by 1 minute and 4 seconds to finish third in 2:20:48 while 23-year-old Besu Sadu in her first marathon race of her career crossed the line in 4th place in 2:21:03.
