The 24-year-old British sprinter went out hard from the blocks and in a dominant fashion claimed the 200m World championships gold in a new British Record of 21.88 seconds.
"I woke up today thinking, 'This is it. This is the moment you did all your work for'. The tiredness disappeared," Asher Smith told BBC.
"[My coach] John [Blackie] and I knew I could do it, it means so much."
